Trackinno asset management service utilizes QR code and NFC technologies. This means you can use either a QR code or an NFC reader to scan Trackinno tags (note that iPhones do not currently support NFC).
You can read the tags with 1) Trackinno Mobile application or 2) a third-party application, in the case you use Trackinno in your mobile phone’s web browser.
1. Reading tags with Trackinno Mobile application
You can read a Trackinno tag by selecting Scan tag on the mobile application’s start screen, which opens the Collecting view.
If your smartphone supports NFC, ensure the NFC reader is activated. Scan the Trackinno tag by bringing your phone near the tag. You can locate the NFC detection area on the back of your phone by moving the phone on top of the tag.
If your phone doesn’t support NFC, Scan tag button opens the phone’s camera, which you can use for scanning the QR code.
2. Reading tags with a third-party application
If you use Trackinno in your mobile phone’s browser, you need a third-party application for reading the Trackinno tags.
You can download a QR code reader application here for an Android phone and here for an iOS phone. If you are using a Windows/Nokia phone, you have a reader already on your phone. You can find more information here. Instead of using QR code reader, you may also use your smartphone’s NFC feature. The NFC feature can be activated in the same place as where you would switch WLAN or Bluetooth on/off. The NFC detection area is located on the back of your smartphone.
Read a Trackinno tag using a QR code reader
Open a QR code reader on your smartphone. Read a QR code by pointing your smartphone’s camera at the QR code. The reading usually occurs automatically and a successful scanning is often validated by a sound or vibrate notification. After that, the Trackinno asset management service will open on your smartphone’s web browser. If not, tap the link that appeared on your smartphone’s screen after the scanning.
